Bulk field update using regular expression

May 24, 2010 at 6:49 PM

Is there a way to update a text field using a regular expression. For example, I have a text field that contains the path to a network share which is now changing. I would like to search through the fields and replace \\shareOld\somefolder with \\shareNew\somefolder.

From this article: http://patrikluca.blogspot.com/2008/08/bulk-update-of-field-for-existing.html you can see a similar kind of update.

I am looking for a tool that does what you mention: update using regex. Can we do it with SUSHI?

I have not yet received a response. I have been researching an alternative approach but does not involve regular expressions. SharePoint has a wacky data model structure so I had to search the databases for the paths and run an SQL script to make the change.
